Born into a hard working and entrepreneurial family, it is no wonder that LaFern Batie is a visionary with a passion for life, fortitude for change and a desire to see others fully experience purposeful existences by using their innate gifts and talents. While experience and formal education have enhanced her expertise, LaFern learned basic business lessons at her elders’ feet – in a community where restaurateurs, retailers, mechanics, farmers and multi-job jugglers established enterprises out of necessity as much as passion. With a will to
survive, thrive, be a good steward and share with the world, LaFern unwraps her gifts as a professional speaker, business and leadership development coach and author. She inspires you to meet her in this special place where eagles dare to soar. As the President of The Batie Group, LLC, LaFern lives her mission through transformational developmental experiences. With over 20 years of corporate and civic leadership experience, LaFern works with international organizations and clients across diverse industries. She designs and facilitates leadership development and learning seminars, as well as organizational effectiveness and personal skills enhancement initiatives.
While always exuding an entrepreneurial spirit, LaFern’s professional experiences include human resources leadership, operations management and accounting. In her quest to share her passion for lifelong learning and growth, LaFern develops and conducts communication, personal success and marketing workshops including the notable “Marketing Brand You™” and “Getting Comfortable with Uncomfortable Conversations™”. A member of the National Speakers Association and the International Coach Federation, LaFern serves in various leadership roles within business and professional organizations. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Salisbury University, a Master of Business Administration from the University of Maryland and is a certified Professional in Human Resources. Her professional coach training was obtained from Coach University and the Lore Institute. To rejuvenate her spirit, LaFern travels, reads, spends time with family, and serves her community.
